Our projects

A look at recent jobs: what was on site, how we tackled it, and what we handed back.

Concrete removal · Crushing · Stockpiling

Croydon

South London
BreakBreakers & pulverisers
CrushProcessed on site
65ftStacker stockpiling

The job

A large brownfield site in Croydon covered in broken-out concrete, slab and hardcore, which needed clearing and processing ready for the next phase of development.

How we did it

Volvo excavators on OilQuick couplers worked the arisings with breakers and pulverisers, separating out the rebar. A tracked crusher processed the concrete on site, feeding our 65ft stacker to build high, tidy stockpiles, with a dust cannon running throughout.

The result

Concrete turned into graded aggregate on site instead of lorried away, rebar sent for recycling, and a cleared site with stockpiles ready for reuse.

Slab removal · Crushing · Brownfield handover

Goliath Warehouse

Coventry, West Midlands
40Acres of slab & foundations
40mmStone recycled on site
CleanBrownfield handover
Excavators and crushing plant spread across the Goliath Warehouse site

The job

Forty acres of concrete slabs and foundations to be removed from a former warehouse site, leaving a safe, level brownfield platform ready for redevelopment.

How we did it

A full site assessment came first to manage the risks. We then broke out the slabs and foundations and fed the arisings straight into a crusher and screener, producing large quantities of 40mm stone for the civil engineers to reuse on the same site.

The result

The ground was levelled and the site left safe and clean in brownfield condition, finished within the programme. Recycling the concrete on site cut the volume going to tip and the stone the next contractor needed to buy in.

Demolition · Soft strip · Surveys

Evelyn Court Care Home

Heanor, Derbyshire
LiveResidential neighbours
Bat& hazardous materials surveys
ClearSite ready to build
Excavator taking down the gable end of Evelyn Court

The job

Full demolition of a two-storey former care home surrounded by houses and next to a main road. The neighbours, the road and the building's own condition shaped every decision.

How we did it

We surveyed for asbestos, lead and other contaminants, and carried out bat surveys before anything was touched. A soft strip took out the fixtures, fittings and finishes, then the structure was taken down in a controlled order to avoid collapse and keep dust to a minimum.

The result

The building came down safely and on programme, with materials segregated for recycling and the site handed back as a clean brownfield plot ready for redevelopment.
